After a cancellation that qualifies for a refund, Withlocals sends the refund back to you. How long it takes to arrive depends on your bank.
How refunds work
You cancel the booking, or your host cancels it.
Withlocals processes the refund shortly after the cancellation.
Your bank handles the return on their end.
The money lands back in your account.
Steps 1 and 2 are on the Withlocals side and happen shortly after the cancellation. Steps 3 and 4 depend on your bank, and Withlocals has no control over their processing time.
Where does the refund go?
The refund is sent back to the original payment method you used at checkout. We cannot send a refund to a different card or account.
I cancelled, but I still don't see the money
If several days have passed and the refund has not arrived:
Check your original payment method first. Some banks post refunds silently without a notification.
Contact your bank or card provider and ask them to check for a pending refund against the original charge.
If your bank confirms nothing is incoming, reach out to Withlocals support with your booking reference so we can investigate on our side.
Good to know
Refunds after a host cancellation follow the same path and the same timing.
A partial refund (experience price without the service fee) takes the same amount of time as a full refund.
If you booked through Viator or GetYourGuide, the partner handles the refund on their side. See Booking through Viator or GetYourGuide.
