How to book your first experience
Booking your first experience on Withlocals takes just a few minutes. Here's how to go from browsing to confirmed in six simple steps.
Step-by-step booking guide
Browse experiences
Head to withlocals.com and search by destination, experience type (food tours, city walks, cultural experiences), or keyword. Use filters to narrow down by date, price, or rating.
Choose your date and time
Once you've found an experience you love, select an available date and time slot. Available slots are shown on the experience page - greyed-out dates are fully booked.
Select private or small-group
Many experiences offer both options. A private experience is just for your group. A small-group experience lets you join other travellers - often at a lower per-person price.
Enter traveller details
Fill in the number of travellers and any relevant details your host should know (dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, or special requests). This helps your host prepare the best possible experience for you.
Pay securely online
Choose your payment method and complete the checkout. All payments are processed securely online - there's nothing to pay on the day. You'll see the full price breakdown, including any service fees, before you confirm.
Receive your confirmation
After payment, you'll receive a confirmation email with all the details: date, time, meeting point, and your host's name. Keep this email handy for the day of your experience.
What happens after you book
Confirmation email - Arrives in your inbox right away. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
Host introduction - Your host may send you a welcome message with extra tips or information about the experience. You can reply directly to ask questions or share preferences.
My Bookings - View all your booking details anytime by logging in and going to "My Bookings" on the website or app.
