Booking on Withlocals takes a few minutes. Here is what happens from browsing to confirmed booking.
Step by step
Type a destination in the search bar on the home page and pick a city from the autocomplete.
Open an experience from the results to read the description, host profile, itinerary, and reviews.
Pick a date and the number of adults and children. The price updates as you change these values.
Continue to checkout, sign in or create an account, and enter your payment details.
Submit the booking. You see a confirmation with your trip details.
After you submit
Most experiences on Withlocals are Instantly Confirmed: when you complete the checkout, your payment is charged and the booking is confirmed right away.
For the smaller number of experiences that need host approval, the process is different:
Your payment is held, not charged.
Your host receives the booking request and reviews it.
Once the host accepts, your payment goes through and the booking moves to Confirmed. If the host declines, the hold is released and you are not charged.
While waiting, your booking shows as Waiting for host confirmation in your account.
Applying a coupon
If you have a coupon code, open the coupon field on the checkout page, enter the code, and confirm. The discount shows on the pricing summary before you pay.
Good to know
The number of adults and children is set at checkout and cannot be changed on the booking afterward. If your group size changes, see How to add or remove guests.
The checkout blocks you from picking more guests than the experience's maximum group size. Larger parties can request a personalized offer.
