How to request a personalized offer

Want something tailored to your group? A personalized offer lets you work directly with a host to create a custom experience - adjusted to your interests, group size, schedule, or dietary needs.

How to request a personalized offer

  1. Go to the experience page

Find an experience you're interested in on withlocals.com. This gives the host a starting point to build your custom offer from.

  2. Click "Request a personalized offer" or contact the host

You'll find this option on the experience page. Alternatively, you can message the host directly from their profile.

  3. Share your preferences

The more details you provide, the better your host can tailor the experience. Include:

    • Your group size

    • Dietary needs or allergies (for food experiences)

    • Special interests or must-see spots

    • Preferred date and time

    • Any accessibility requirements

  4. Receive a custom offer from your host

Your host will review your request and send you a personalized offer with a tailored itinerary and pricing. You'll receive a notification when the offer is ready.

  5. Review and book the offer

Check the details, and if everything looks good, confirm and pay online just like a regular booking.

Good to know

  • Not all hosts offer personalized options - If you don't see the option on the experience page, the host may only offer their standard format.

  • Response time is usually 24 to 48 hours - Hosts aim to reply quickly, but give them a day or two, especially during busy seasons.

  • Pricing may differ from the standard experience - A custom experience may cost more or less than the listed price, depending on what's included, the group size, and the duration.

  • You're not committed until you book - Receiving an offer doesn't mean you're locked in. You can ask questions, request changes, or decide not to proceed.

Tips for a great custom experience

  • Be specific about what you want - "We love street food and want to avoid touristy areas" gives the host much more to work with than "surprise us."

  • Mention if it's a special occasion (birthday, anniversary) so your host can add a personal touch.

  • Request your offer a few days ahead of your preferred date to allow time for back-and-forth with the host.
