Minimum booking notice

Your book-ahead time is how far in advance a guest has to book before an experience starts. It's set in your agenda settings, and you can override it per experience.

Setting your default book-ahead time

  1. Open your Agenda in the host dashboard.

  2. Tap Settings in the agenda footer.

  3. Open Book ahead time.

  4. Pick a value from the list and tap Save time.

You pick from a range of preset values, from 30 minutes up to 72 hours. Next to each option, Withlocals shows the expected impact on your booking chances: shorter notice means more bookings, longer notice means fewer.

Once saved, this is the default for every experience you host.

Per-experience exceptions

You can set a longer book-ahead time on a specific experience if you need more notice for it. This is common for experiences that need extra prep (ingredients, tickets, transport).

  1. From the same Book ahead time settings page, scroll down to Add exceptions here.

  2. Pick the experience you want to change.

  3. Set a higher value. The per-experience list includes longer options (up to 2 weeks) on top of the default presets.

  4. Save.

If you try to set an exception higher than the experience allows, the agenda shows "Please select a shorter time!" with the maximum allowed.

Good to know

  • A shorter book-ahead time gives you more last-minute bookings.

  • Exceptions only work upwards: you can require more notice for a specific experience, not less than your default.

  • Book-ahead time is about how close to the start a guest can still book. It does not affect how far ahead in the future your calendar is open.
