After your application is accepted, Withlocals guides you through a set of onboarding steps before you can start receiving bookings. You work through them at your own pace, and your progress is saved so you can pick up where you left off.
What you need to complete
Onboarding is split into four groups of tasks:
1. Profile setup - set up the profile that guests see when they browse your experiences:
Profile picture, personal title, and bio
Phone number verification
Email address verification
2. Verifications - confirm your identity and set up your finances:
ID verification (KYC) through Stripe. See KYC and identity verification.
Stripe Connect setup so Withlocals can pay you out
Invoicing address so Withlocals can generate invoices for your earnings
Fiscal details, including whether you are invoiced as an individual or a company, and your VAT number if applicable
3. Hosting and training - prepare for your first bookings:
Tour licenses: answer whether you hold a tour license and, if yes, add your licenses. See Host licensing and permits.
Transport modes: pick the modes of transport you will use on tours
Join tours: pick the Withlocals Originals experiences you want to host
Training webinar: sign up and attend a training webinar (see below)
4. Start hosting - once everything above is done, you can publish your profile and go live in your city.
Each task shows whether it is not started, pending, scheduled, rejected, or completed. Some tasks only unlock after earlier ones are done. The Join tours task unlocks after the other hosting tasks are finished, and the Training webinar only unlocks after all other steps are complete.
The training webinar
Click Sign up on the training webinar task to open a scheduling window where you pick a time. The webinar is hosted through Calendly. After you attend, the task is marked complete. If you do not attend, you need to sign up again.
The learning center
Withlocals also has a learning center with courses and articles about hosting. You can reach it from your onboarding page or from your host dashboard. The learning center stays available after onboarding, so you can revisit it any time.
Good to know
Onboarding is self-paced. There is no deadline to finish.
You cannot receive bookings until every task is complete.
