Applying to become a Withlocals host happens on the Become a Host site, at the page for the city where you want to host. The application runs as a short form that checks whether you qualify and creates your host account.
Where to start
Open the Become a Host site and find the city page for the city you want to host in.
On the city page, open the Apply page.
Read the four-step intro (eligibility check, profile setup, verification, training) and tap Start your journey to begin.
If the city is not currently accepting new hosts, the apply page shows a Notify me later option instead. Leave your email there and Withlocals contacts you when applications for that city become available.
The application form
You work through a fixed set of steps:
How long you have lived in the city
Whether you have reviews from past guests
How many hours per week you can host
Gender identity (optional to disclose)
Languages you can host in (English is required)
Date of birth
Your first and last name
Accepting the terms and conditions and privacy policy
Logging in or creating a Withlocals account
Each step has its own rules. If an answer does not meet the minimum, Withlocals tells you why and you cannot continue. See the eligibility check article for the full details.
After you submit
Once you complete every step and submit, you see a confirmation page and your account is created. From there you continue into your onboarding, where the next steps begin.
Good to know
There is no fee to apply.
You can only apply in cities where Withlocals is currently accepting new hosts.
If you are already a host on Withlocals, the apply page tells you that you do not need to apply again.
